  Why do JWs stay despite doubts & discoveries about JW Beliefs?

  if we are going to create a pie chart with the following categories, what could be the main components-reasons and their respective percentages for just staying in the organization in spite of the doubts, discoveries about the jw doctrines/beliefs?

  i doubt if the topmost reason is because of love of jehovah god and his son jesus christ.

  your inputs dear friends and fellow brothers will be most appreciated.. a. below 40 years old.

  I would say that with my wife it's about 68% fear of losing family, 2% losing friends, and 30% she just wants there to be a "new system" as she was taught. She sure as hell doesn't want to go to heaven.

  All in all, it's 100% emotional blackmail.

  But you will hear that when Mr. Kendrick was removed as a ministerial servant, that's a significant event, it doesn't happen every day, that's a signal that something is wrong.

  Yes, he could have done some hideously evil thing like send his kids to college.

  i don't even know where to start.. more than anything, i'd like to say that i am not a woman of vengeance.

  i am very much a forgiving person.

  if you say "i'm sorry," and you're genuine, i can move on from it quickly and easily.

  At this point in time, don't worry about payback or vengeance.

  Worry about you!

  Talking to a psychologist who specializes in abuse (because that what has happened to you) will help sort things out. Then you will be in a better position to help your kids, and you may even reasess the idea of vengeance (even though I KNOW it feels really good right now!)

  lots of proper pioneering (90 hours), lots of calls, lots of studies, lots of interest.

  enough to make it all interesting.

  driving this buzz was the sense that armageddon was imminent.. my father was never a jw, and was very opposed.

  As far as the no-man's-land effect, yeah, been there. The first question I asked myself when I realized it was a crock (also after the 2010 overlapping generations thing) was How do I know what I know? I just went from there. .. .

  this is the letter i wrote back in '96 about the parousia.

  following the '95 watchtower that disconnected the "generation" from 1914 i began to look carefully at end-time prophecy and soon discovered what i knew were basic errors in what i had been taught.. i was a loyal jw at the time and was still serving as an elder.

  i used only watchtower publications in my research.

  600 people up and left the DC after the 'apostate' talk?

  an 'apostate' inactive jw in america i know on facebook went to the dc and said fully 600 people left between the end of the apostate talk and the lunch break.

  have any of you who also went to the dc seen something like this happen?
